Chan Chong Ming qualified for the Athens Olympic Games 2004 and 4 World Championships, with his highest career ranking being world No. 1. Throughout his career he has won 3 gold medals at the Commonwealth Games and also emerged World Junior Champion thrice.
Prior to his retirement, he had undergone a coaching course conducted by the Coaching and Training Committee of the Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM).
Since then, he has started a new badminton coaching career. Chan is currently focusing on a youth project called “Intensive Program”, with the purpose of educating young talents in Selangor, passing on the knowledge of daily practice and commitment to make the best possible foundation for these players to take the next step to the national badminton center in Malaysia and to be a possible part of the future for badminton.
Besides that, he is also an experienced and well-known tournament organizer. He has worked with renowned brands such as Daikin, CIMB Foundation, ASTRO, Sunsuria, etc. to conceptualize, plan, and organize badminton tournaments, coaching clinics and CSR programs.
